Natural in 2013

I have had people ask me a lot about using organic makeup.  Here is my take on it. We try to eat as healthy as possible.  I can’t afford to eat EVERYTHING organic or “fair trade” or natural BUT the things I use the MOST, I do try to buy chemical and hormone free like eggs, milk, chicken, berries and lettuce.  That DOESN’T STOP me from going out to eat where I can’t control where the things came from that are on my plate, but that is a special occasion.

So with your makeup, when you have a special occasion like your wedding, a fitness competition, a night out…its OK to use things with harsher ingredients that are going to help it stay on longer.  BUT when it comes to using your own stuff just try to use things that are going to be in direct contact with your skin and that you wear everyday. LIKE…Lotion, Foundation, Lip products.  These 3 are the most important I think.  Once you get these on as your “staples” then the other products that go on top won’t be such a threat to absorption since there will be a barrier on the skin already.

I think it is important to be aware, but also important not to freak out about it.  I am going to try to do my share by posting products that I like that are “natural” or “organic” as much as I can.

Happy Beautifying!
