"Lyndsey - I am in my 50's can I wear a smokey eye?"

Sure! Many women have been misled about this.  Yes, it is true that darker colors bring the eyes in.  Yes, it is true that darker colors tend to be aging on older women.  However, everything can be modified.  Keep it smokey AND soft.  Try using navy blue or even deep plum instead of black or grey to create a smokey eye.  Balance that with a yellow tone or peach tone above the lid area blending well opening the eye at the top.  It will create the same effect and look less harsh.  It may actually draw less attention to any wrinkles.  People will be looking at your mysterious eyes.  Keep in mind to do a nude or light pink lip however whenever doing a smokey eye.
