Just because someone may own one of these…it DOES NOT make them a Makeup artist.
A lot of people think if they can buy the makeup and watch You Tube videos enough they can be a makeup artist. It is a direct slap in the face to those like me who went to college for makeup design, went to GRAD school for makeup design (6 years total) AND have worked professionally for 13 YEARS to be a TRULY professional artist. Being a makeup artist is more than just being able to slap on some makeup. It means being educated in products, technology, lighting, skin care, anatomy, color theory, techniques, face/eye shape, contouring, color mixing…I could go on and on. SO until a makeup artist has paid their dues, gotten the certification and done the back breaking labor….PLEASE don’t enter the makeup industry and try to undercut the true artists prices claiming you are a “professional”.
Do your research ladies on who you hire to do the job, just like any other business there are plenty claiming they are one thing and in reality are another.
